Related Instruction

What Is Related Instruction?

Classroom and other forms of instruction (theory) that reinforce the on-the-job training. The related instruction can be provided during working hours or during non-working hours. Related instruction generally equals one hundred fourty-four (144) per year.

Who Provides Related Instruction?

  1. The employer sponsor through:
  • Classroom training that the company provides
  • Home study courses that the administers
  • A combination of the two above methods
  1. Equipment vendors
  2. High school ATE departments, for high school students only
  3. Area technical schools
  4. Community colleges
  5. A combination of any or all of the methods mentioned above. It all depends on the sponsor's preferences, needs and the availability of providers.
